Wedding Make-up Trends
When it comes to choosing a make-up artist, Nicola Harrison is in high demand and here at Dewsall we are thrilled with this, as Nicki got married at Dewsall a few years ago (and looked incredible)! We’ve caught up with her to talk all things up-and-coming in make-up trends this season and find out how to achieve perfectly dreamy radiant skin on your wedding day.
Bronzed Eyes
A simple smokey eye is effortless, timeless and tends to work with every bridal look! Warm matte browns will define and enhance eye colour. Adding a little glimmer in the centre of the lid, above the pupil will make eyes appear bigger to cheat a full night’s sleep. Finish this luminous bronzed look with fluttery individual lashes.
Luminous Skin
Who doesn’t want radiant skin on their wedding day? We’re currently seeing luminous complexions with a glow not just on cheekbones, but all over! The key to glowing skin is firstly great diet, plenty of water and a good skincare regime. Add gentle acids, vitamin C and retinol into your skincare routine and you’ll soon reap the rewards. Next up, primer. Moisturisers and luminisers play a part here. Layering is key to a long-lasting luminous base. After foundation application, applying powder just to the areas where you need it most will keep oily shine at bay and the radiant glow only where you want it!
Flushed Cheeks and Rosy Hues
Heavy contour is out! Pretty flushed cheeks and soft bronzed skin is the hottest makeup look right now. It’s youthful, romantic and easy to wear. A luminous peach or pink blush with a lip colour to match looks great on all skin tones. You could match these pretty hues to the tones in your bouquet.
The Statement Lip
As we head towards autumn it’s a great opportunity to play with different tones. A feline eye flick and berry-toned lipstick are the perfect match for an autumnal look. Transform your berry lip into a high-shine luxurious pout using a matching lip gloss. This will add instant glamour! Or, for a subtle berry stain, a light coat of a matte lipstick will leave you with a softer look for those who don’t want to go too bold.

The Fluffy Natural Brow
The big brow is no longer just for the catwalk. Heavy drawn on brows are out, fluffy brows are back! Tame and define your brows with waxing and tinting at least a week before your wedding. Brushing your brows upwards allows you to see what parts of your brow need attention and then just add definition where you need it. The latest eyebrow pens enable the lightest touch, creating hair stroke brows that look completely natural. Set into place with brow gel for a long-lasting finish.
