Ludlow

An architectural gem, with its castle and medieval and Georgian buildings, Ludlow, in South Shropshire, is said to be one of the most attractive towns in England. As well as all the above Ludlow has an impeccable reputation for food, with two Michellin starred restaurants and a fantastic annual food festival.

 

Kilpeck Church

Kilpeck church is home to the finest collection of Romanesque sculpture in England. It was built in about 1140 and has survived remarkably intact and unaltered to the present day.

Featured on the Cider Route are a range of Cider Producers who have opened up their doors allowing you to peep into the fascinating world of Cider & Perry production and taste cider and perry straight from the casks.

 

The Malvern Hills

The dramatic Malvern hills are an area of outstanding natural beauty and are famed for the pure spring water that flows from them. At the foot is the town of Malvern that was the inspiration for C.S Lewis’s Narnia trilogy.

 

The old market town of Ledbury

Ledbury in the east of the county, is one of England’s prime examples of an old market town, full of timber-framed buildings. The 17th century black & white Market House, which had originally served as a grain store dominates the town centre, and is supported on pillars of chestnut.

 

Goodrich Castle

Goodrich stands majestically on a wooded hill commanding the passage of the River Wye into the picturesque valley of Symonds Yat.
